Susie from Pause & Breathe is delighted to bring this morning of mindfulness to Shambhala Studio. The morning is suitable both for beginners and experienced practitioners. During the morning we will be sharing a variety of mindfulness practices, and talking a little bit about how mindfulness can be integrated into daily life. We will also share some refreshments together (eaten mindfully, of course!). If the session goes well, and there is interest we will be looking at delivering a regular class here.
Research suggest that mindfulness helps us tune out distractions and improves our memory and attention skills. It also improves our ability to recall information and helps us regulate our emotions. Those who practice mindfulness can experience a decrease in emotional reactivity and an increase in cognitive focus. Practising mindfulness involves acceptance in that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judgement, meaning there is no right or wrong way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, we tune into what we’re sensing at the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.
The cost of the morning is £25, concessions (people in receipt of their pension and students) pay £20.
