Susie from Pause & Breathe is delighted to bring this 4-week block of mindfulness to Shambhala Studio. During the four weeks we will have the chance to embed some mindfulness practices, focusing on the breath and body which are the foundations of practice. These sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners.
Research suggest that mindfulness helps us tune out distractions and improves our memory and attention skills. It also improves our ability to recall information and helps us regulate our emotions. Those who practice mindfulness can experience a decrease in emotional reactivity and an increase in cognitive focus. Practising mindfulness involves acceptance in that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judgement, meaning there is no right or wrong way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, we tune into what we’re sensing at the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.
Although it's recommended to attend the full block to gain the most benefit, it is possible to attend each session on an individual basis. Just select the date(s) you would like to come on from the drop down menu. For an individual session the cost is £10 / £8 for concessions.
