Mindfulness - Working with Emotions - Bonnybridge

This is the fourth week of a 5 week course - An Introduction to Mindfulness and can be attended on an individual basis.

The session is entitled "working with emotions". Learning to recognise emotions without identifying with them – ie: “I recognise that I am feeling lonely”, rather than “I am lonely”. Being able to see that emotions are transient – they will pass, or change in strength, and do not always need to be reacted to. In this session, we will undertake a RAIN (recognise / accept / investigate / non-identification) practice.

The session will contain a variety of mindful practices, with some discussion about what mindfulness is, how it can be useful, and how to use it in everyday life. There will also be a detailed hand-out, emailed after the session which will have some suggested audio practices to use at home.
