Latin Fit - Dance Class

  • The Place to Pause & Breathe 83 Broomhill Road Bonnybridge, Scotland, FK4 2AT United Kingdom (map)

Our FREE Wellbeing session this week is "Latin Fit - Dance Class -" with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera from Albacubadance.

This is a feelgood dance class aimed at all levels from beginner to more advanced. Learn a short dance routine to the infectious rhythms of popular Cuban and Latin music. This sessions combines Latin dance moves with some gentle aerobic exercises.

You can expect an energising and easy to follow dance routine, suitable for all ages. No partner required.

Wear something comfortable - gym clothes or loose clothing, whatever will let you move freely - and for footwear wear either dance pumps or light trainers, not heels.

Our Free Wellbeing Sessions are held every Friday morning in The Place to Pause and Breathe, Bonnybridge. These have been funded via Falkirk's Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. These sessions are held on an ongoing basis by Pause & Breathe, and we are delighted to welcome a range of guest facilitators throughout the year. You can come to all of them, or drop in and out. Please do book though, so we know how many people to expect.

The sessions will be held in The Place to Pause & Breathe, on Fridays, from 10am-11am. After the session there is the option to stay until 11.30am for refreshments. Click here to book in.

Meet your facilitator:

Yamil was a lead dancer for five years with the professional Cuban company Ballet Folklorico Cutumba in Santiago de Cuba until he came to live in Scotland in March 2009. Prior to Cutumba, he danced with La Ceiba and Sangre y Tradicion as first dancer. He has performed Cuban popular and Afro folkloric dances for over 20 years and has been teaching in Cuba and in Great Britain since 2007.

Yamil comes from Santiago de Cuba where the tradition of Afro-Cuban music and dance is still very much alive, and Cuban Salsa, Son and other popular dances such as Cha-cha-cha are still as popular as ever. His teaching style is fun, energetic and creative. He is sure to leave you feeling recharged and alive!
