Mind-Body Connection Retreat: Isle of Mull

  • Saorphin Cottages Isle of Mull, Scotland United Kingdom (map)

Our retreat in May 2024 is all about our mind-body connection. We are delighted to be joined again by Soke Yamaue, for Martial Arts as well as insights into Buddhism and traditional ways of meditating.

Susie and Phil will be offering Mindfulness, Qi Gong and Rest. All from a place of embodiment practices and techniques to bring our bodies and minds together, to live in a place of harmony, of integration.

It's possible to come just for the Martial Arts or just for the Mindfulness, Qi Gong and Rest. We'll also have downtime to explore the island, or to allow us to just take some time out.

Mull has so much to offer that of course there will be day-trips too, including an optional tour to Staffa to see the Puffins. We will also plan a visit to Iona, and hope to use the Community Hall there for some of our practices - overlooking the sea, it's such a special place.

We will be staying in two connecting cottages on Saorphin Farm, on the Ross of Mull – the southwestern part of the island. The cottages are peaceful – overlooking Loch Assapol, our closest neighbours are sheep and deer. We can walk to a local beach from the farm, and it’s usually deserted.

The retreat runs from Sunday 12th May, until Saturday 18th May. Arrival is from 3 pm onwards, and we leave the cottages by 9am. Retreatants are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the cottage, although if you are arriving by public transport, we can arrange to pick you up and drop you off at the ferry port on Mull for a small additional charge.

Depending on the weather, some of our sessions will be outside, including dips in the sea if you fancy joining us. We will also have a variety of optional day trips, allowing you to see more of the island, including the Isle of Iona and Staffa.

Please note that it's not possible to bring pets on retreat.

The cost of the retreat varies, depending on the room you choose to stay in. For one person in a shared room, the price is £995 per person. A single supplement is £1245. There are also some rooms with double beds, for two people booking a double room it's £1690. This includes full board accommodation for six nights, and all teaching sessions.

We do have one subsidised space: please get in contact to have a chat if this would suit you best in terms of your financial circumstances.

If you would like to book a place on the retreat, contact us at pause@pauseandbreathe.co.uk, and we will send you the terms and conditions. To secure your booking, we will require a deposit. We will be in contact to arrange payment. Depending on when you book, it may be possible to set up a payment plan for the retreat.
