We have been awarded funding from Falkirk Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund to run Friday Wellbeing sessions from 2026-2028. Over these two years we’ll be offering different activities on a Friday morning, with different facilitators, all designed to support participant’s mental, physical, emotional and social health.
These sessions are completely free for participants, which includes all equipment and materials used. The sessions runs from 10-11am, we’ll stay together until 11.30am for hot drinks, biscuits and a chat.
We offer a wide range of different activities, from mindful workshops to movement to creative workshops - art, poetry, writing - the variety means that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Often my dog Phin will be there - please let me know if this doesn’t work for you. We know that some people are allergic, or prefer not to have a dog in their space - this is absolutely fine!
Nia Dance - Friday Wellbeing
Nia combines dance, mindfulness and functional movement in a way that supports both wellbeing and self-expression. There are 52 core moves within Nia, but this class isn’t about mastering them all. It’s about exploring movement in a way that feels good for your body, connecting with music, and discovering the joy of moving without judgement.
Creative Writing - Wellness Through Journalling and Memoir - Friday Wellbeing
This session will include the opportunity to share and reflect on books, poetry or non fiction that is meaningful those who come along.
Using writing prompts and some simple exercises participants will have the opportunity to spend time (in 7 minute sections) in free writing.
Ink & Unwind: Mixed Media Tote Bag Printing - Free Friday Wellbeing
Join us for a fun, mixed media printing session where we will ink, layer and paste our colourful designs onto fabric to create a finished tote bag.
This workshop combines surface design and textile art, giving you the chance to transform a plain cotton tote into a unique, wearable bag.
Making a Self-Soothing Box - Free Friday Wellbeing
A self-soothe box is a personalised collection of items that can help you during times of stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm. It is designed to support you in finding a sense of calm and help you think more clearly when difficult feelings arise. They provide comfort and support when things feel especially overwhelming.
Wax Melt Workshop - Free Friday Wellbeing
An introduction to how to make your own natural wax botanical melts. You will spend some time making wax melts together, learning a wee bit of the science behind it, then decorating your melts with lovely dried botanicals to take home and enjoy.
Audrey Gray from Yoga with Audrey will be the facilitator for this session.
Drumming and Chanting Circle - Friday Wellbeing
Suitable for complete beginners. Drumming is fun, drumming is easy, drumming is good for you. What's not to like?! Anyone can drum. And anyone can chant. We all have an inbuilt sense of rhythm and we all have a voice.
Drumming helps us to relax, let go of daily stress and energise us all at the same time through some simple rhythms.
Are You a Poet But you Dont Know it?! - Friday Wellbeing
The session will encourage participants to produce a poem/ piece of writing, using various prompts from the tutor.
People often ask, does poetry have to rhyme? No! Nor does it have to be a certain length. If participants finish the session having written one sentence which feels honest, then they’ve written a poem!
Self-Defence Techniques - Friday Wellbeing
Smart Self-Defence: Confidence, Awareness, and Practical Safety.

Flight of Heart, Recycled Leather Workshop - Free Friday Wellbeing
Come along and create a unique, sustainable piece of hanging wall decor using recycled leather in this practical, eco craft workshop.
No experience needed as you'll be shown how to cut and assemble your bird and heart design as well as how to finish it off using rustic leather cord for hanging.
Beltane Morning - FREE Friday Wellbeing

New moon = New beginnings. A New Moon phase occurs when the moon is completely dark with zero luminosity. The space before the new moon cycle begins is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your inner calm, to find clarity to manifest more of what you would like to welcome into your life.

“Let’s Talk About Death” workshops are friendly, down-to-earth gatherings where one of life’s biggest topics is brought out of the shadows and into warm, welcoming conversation.

Mindful Eating - Friday Wellbeing
In this session participants will be encouraged to explore mindful eating. The session is not about dieting or judging. Its just about noticing.
The session will invite participants to take part in a guided mindful 'tasting' of a choice of various snacks. During this they will be encouraged to self reflect on the experience.
Paper Remix Workshop - Friday Wellbeing

Kimchi-Making - Friday Wellbeing
Fermented foods have so many health benefits - it's something that in the West we're just starting to realise. Our Kimchi Community cafe in July went so well that we're gathering again to make kimchi together, and find out more about the ways this can improve our health.
Indian Head Massage - Friday Morning Wellbeing Session
This session will demonstrate how to carry out a 30 minute Indian Head Massage to treat self and friends and family. It will give participants the opportunity to try out the technique and also to receive a treatment of no contraindications.
Getting Our Needs Met Workshop - Friday Wellbeing
This workshop is based around Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. We'll consider what are needs are, how we currently are/aren't meeting them and how we can make changes to live healthier, more fulfilled lives. We need to have our most basic needs met before we can find self-fulfillment.
Belly-Dancing for Confidence: Friday Morning Wellbeing Session
"Belly-Dancing is one of the oldest forms of dance. It promotes balance, strength, digestion, co-ordination and confidence.”
The class will include dancing and confidence coaching.
There will be fun and celebration.
